A good deal for the mobile businessperson who needs to stay in touch.
With everyone on the go nowadays, finding a quality headset
microphone is important. I use one at home to dictate to the computer and make
Skype calls. My friends use them at the office to efficiently answer phones,
and I’ve been told they’re useful to carry around if you use a laptop on the
go.
Although I don’t use laptops all that often, I do travel with
a headset so I won’t have to borrow someone else’s. Because of this, I’m always on the lookout
for durable travel headsets that I can throw in my bag or briefcase and be on
my way.
The audio quality of both the earpiece and the microphone on
the KX-TCA92 was fine. Not outstanding, but definitely usable. People I spoke
to using VOIP said my voice sounded slightly hollow, but completely understandable
nonetheless.
The real drawback of this headset is its durable traveling
design. Headsets that fold minimize the chance of the headband snapping, so
this is an important feature if you plan on taking these out with you on a
daily basis. I found the hinges on this set to be stronger than most and I was
quite pleased with their stiffness.
The in-line volume control and mute button is a nice
addition; however, these features have currently become a standard addition to
most headset microphones. The silver and black design is attractive and modern. It would’ve been nice to have a few color
options for this headset.
If you’re looking for a fashion statement, look
elsewhere. However, if you need dependable performance in a sturdy package, the
KX-TCA92 will be a good fit.
